Three Canadian soldiers were killed west of Kandahar City this morning, marking the 100th military death in Afghanistan.

CUPE mourns the loss of the brave men and women who have lost their lives in the conflict, including Michael Starker, a paramedic and member of CUPE 3421 in Calgary.

Canada has about 2,750 troops stationed in Kandahar, one of Afghanistan’s most volatile provinces.

We urge the Canadian government to enact a safe and immediate withdrawal of all Canadian forces from the Afghanistan combat mission.
