North Bay, Ont. – Members of the North Bay District CUPE Council and local CUPE members, along with community and labour supporters, will hold a rally against public-private partnerships and the privatization of public services, in front of Liberal MPP Monique Smith’s constituency office, on Saturday, June 3rd, at 1:00 pm, at 165 Main Street, in North Bay.

We are rallying in solidarity with a provincial rally organized by the Ontario Federation of Labour, that will be held simultaneously at Queen’s Park,” said CUPE District Council president Henri Giroux. “We want Dalton McGuinty and his Liberals to remember they said NO to P3s during their election campaign, and we expect them to honour that promise.”

We must expose and oppose all forms of P3s and privatization,” said Giroux. “The public doesn’t want private hospitals and privatized services – they want directly accountable, reliable public services.”
