Fanny Demontigny has worked as a personal support worker at the Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre, CIUSSS for 20 years. She became involved in her union during the 2015 strike. First serving as secretary general, then as president of CUPE 2881, she has been a strong advocate for workers’ rights and better working conditions.

Today, she is president of CUPE Quebec’s Conseil provincial des affaires sociales, and vice-president for social affairs at CUPE Quebec. Since February 2025, she also serves as regional vice-president for Quebec on CUPE’s National Executive Board. She is deeply committed to protecting public health care and social services.

Beyond her union activism, she is a member of the board of Entraide and an active participant at the Coalition Solidarité Santé, defending public services. She believes in the power of solidarity and in building strong connections between the labour movement and community organizations.

A mother of two, she brings her values of commitment and social justice into everything she does.
