Following intensive negotiations before a mediator, a tentative agreement has been reached between CUPE 5910 representing the 500 Société de transport de l’Outaouais, STO bus drivers and their employer.
“We’re satisfied with the outcome of negotiations. We managed to get an agreement thanks to the support of members of our union,” said Benoît Pichette-Sarault, president of CUPE 5910, on behalf of the executive committee.
The members had been without a contract for close to four years and had given a strike mandate last November 21, which received 97.4% support. The tentative agreement will be presented to the members at a meeting early in the new year.
