Last night, workers in the Town of Rouyn-Noranda in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region ratified the tentative agreement that they and their employer’s representatives reached on March 9.
This new collective agreement was voted on and received 86% support. However, details cannot yet be released as the agreement has not been ratified by town council.
The tentative agreement, which received 81% support, in principle, on February 10, has not yet been ratified by town council.
“This agreement came together thanks to the solidarity and mobilization of the membership. Keeping expertise in house ensures that we protect the services offered to citizens of the Town of Rouyn-Noranda,” says CUPE representative Geneviève Carrier.
