CUPE 2073 representing workers who provide services for the Deaf, Oral Deaf, Deafened and Hard of Hearing community at 24 offices across Ontario, has reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Hearing Society (CHS).
The agreement comes after 18 days of bargaining and conciliation, beginning in February. “It was an intense round of bargaining, but we are happy to come out of it with an agreement that we can take back to the members,” said Barbara Frey, CUPE National Representative.
No further details on the agreement will be released until members have an opportunity to review it and hold a ratification vote expected later this month.
CUPE 2073’s previous contract expired on March 31, 2018.
