Members of the OCEU/CUPE 1750 set up a picket line outside the New Horizons in Safety conference today. The conference, being held at the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference center, is meant to showcase leaders in occupational health and safety. Among the keynote speakers will be senior leaders from the WSIB, and Ontario’s Minister of Labour.

The union representing workers at the WSIB have been on strike since Thursday after their employer failed to come to the table with a proposal that would address the core issues of workload and workplace culture.
