Wendake Police Department ratifies their new agreement

Last week, the 12 police officers of the Wendake Police Department near Quebec City unanimously ratified their new collective agreement.

The five-year contract calls for wage hikes averaging out to 2% annually.

Some of the gains include some improvements to overtime during training sessions, mandatory work and meetings along with an indexation of premiums.

Several other improvements such as leave for union business were also negotiated.

CUPE represents most of the unionized Indigenous police forces in Quebec.
