Changing of the guard at the Syndicat des cols bleus regroupés de Montréal

Following the triennial election, members of the Syndicat des cols bleus regroupés de Montréal (CUPE 301) voted for a change in leadership. The president-elect, Nicolas De Ciccio, will be replacing Jean-Pierre Lauzon, who has been in this role for three years.

“I’d like to thank our members for their trust,” said De Ciccio. “And reassure them that we’ll transition positively and as quickly as possible. We’ll inform them promptly on the status of major issues, including the major bargaining underway with the Ville de Montréal to renew our collective agreement. We’re pursuing bargaining with the same objective in mind: we will not accept a cut-price deal.”

The president-elect of CUPE 301 recognizes all the work outgoing members have accomplished and reiterates his dedication to CUPE 301’s core purpose of promoting and defending members’ interests.

“We’re ready to get to work. There’s a lot ahead, but we’re ready to take it on and assume responsibility for the sizable task,” added the president-elect. “Outside workers deserve it!”

No interviews will be granted at this time. Elected representatives are focussed on resolving the many issues at hand.

A Ville de Montréal employee since 2011 and an active member of the CUPE 301 family since 2014, De Ciccio knows the union structure well.
