Undermined, a new documentary film, presents the views of eight Amerindians from Guyana, South America, regarding Canadian mining companies operating in their region. At issue are several unresolved land claims.

Subtitled “Communities, Consultation & Corporate Accountability in Guyana”, the 35-minute film “gives voice to a group of people who have so far been silenced in all formal decision-making forums,” says a promotional flyer.

An Ottawa screening and panel discussion are scheduled for 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2008, at the National Library and Archives of Canada. For more information, visit www.undermined.ca.
