OTTAWA – Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) President Ken Georgetti, Canadian Union of Public Employees National President Judy Darcy, as well as CUPE National Secretary-Treasurer Claude Gnreux and other CUPE Leaders from across Canada will attend a mass picket for locked-out cleaners at the Carlingwood Mall tomorrow (Thursday, November 7th), from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. The cleaners, represented by Local 4266.06 of CUPE were effectively locked out without notice on Monday, October 21st when low-wage replacement workers were brought in to do their work.
CUPE, Canada’s largest union, represents over half a million workers across Canada.
