Nancy MacBain is aware of the issues facing working people today. Good jobs, childcare and accessible education are her priorities. She is committed, compassionate, hard working and honest.

WORKING FOR REAL SOLUTIONS

MacBain is a Staff Representative at CUPE 3906, which represents more than 3,000 academic workers at McMaster University. She has been employed at CUPE 3906 since 2007.

She relocated from Moncton, N.B., to Hamilton in 2006, to attend McMaster University, where she earned her Masters in Labour Studies. She also has an undergraduate degree from Mount Allison University.

Prior to moving to Hamilton, MacBain was employed as a front line worker for more than 15 years for a not-for-profit agency, which assisted persons with disabilities. It was through that employment experience that she became involved with her union and became passionate about people, community and politics.
