Building Capacity: Strategic Organizing for Union Leaders to Mobilize for Change
April 29 (8:30am) - May 3, 2024 (12:00pm) (10 spaces available)

This course is designed to equip union leaders with the essential knowledge, skills, and strategies needed to effectively organize and mobilize workers, harness collective strength and solidarity in order to build ultimate capacity and power within the labour movement.

Communicating CUPE

Spread the Word! Enhance your skills to effectively communicate with your members, conquer social media, handle media relations like a pro, craft successful campaigns, and tap into valuable cost-share and strike-averting resources.

Grievance Handling: Understanding the Law and Practical Tips
April 29 (8:30am) - May 3, 2024 (12:00pm) (3 spaces available)

Develop the skills to draft, prepare and argue grievances with confidence. You will also come away with the skills to help assess when to advance, settle or withdraw a grievance, learn strategies for navigating challenging grievances, and gain a thorough understanding of the legal obligations surrounding the duty of fair representation.

Understanding Alberta's Bargaining Process and Charting the Course for Union Success
April 29 (8:30am) - May 3, 2024 (12:00pm) (full)

This course is for members who are familiar with the bargaining process at the table and want a deeper understanding of bargaining strategy, the Alberta Labour Relations Code timelines and requirements, mediation, essential services agreements, final offer votes, strike votes and building bargaining power through solidarity and collective action.
