OTTAWA – CUPE Airline Division president Michel Cournoyer and NDP Transport, Infrastructure and Communities critic Olivia Chow will reveal possible solutions and action, at a news conference to be held this Tuesday, for preventing the Conservative government from compromising passenger safety aboard aircraft.

Transport Canada recently announced its intention to allow air carriers across Canada to reduce the number of flight attendants aboard their aircraft despite the fact that in an emergency, flight attendants play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of passengers.
