Mary Lou Cherwaty, a CUPE member and flight attendant with First Air, has been elected president of the Nunavut and Northwest Territories Federation of Labour.

This is an impressive feat, said CUPE National President Paul Moist, adding that Cherwaty also brought a motion of support for CUPEs position in the dispute with the IWA to the convention floor.

The motion was adopted unanimously.
