KINGSTON, ON – Kingston Frontenac Public Library workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), reached a tentative agreement with their employer this morning, Thursday, July 28th.

We are very pleased to reach an agreement without a strike,” said Nancy Mohan, president of CUPE local 2202. “Our bargaining team and our employer worked very hard to reach a deal so library services would not be disrupted.”

The 92 librarians, library assistants, IT and office administration, as well as maintenance employees of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library, will vote on the proposed deal on August 12th. Details of the agreement will not be available until after ratification by the union and the Kingston Frontenac library board.
