Traditionally, CUPE’s national convention welcomes several guests from around the world. This year, they are coming to Toronto from South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, the United Kingdom, France, the United States and Denmark.
The guests, 16 in all, will enjoy a full program of activities including an international dinner, the global justice forum, a labour theatrical event and a labour tour of inner-city Toronto. They may also participate in sectoral meetings, regional caucuses and other forums.
They will be introduced to delegates this morning on the main floor of convention. We welcome them and wish them a good convention with their Canadian sisters and brothers.
