TORONTO — The union representing workers at Toronto Hydro and its subsidiary, Toronto Hydro Telecom, will hold an information picket outside the corporation’s board of directors meeting tomorrow morning.

The people of Toronto own Toronto Hydro, but the appointed board is moving toward the sale of Telecom without any public consultation or input,” said Pauline Niles, president of CUPE Local One. “Decisions about this valuable piece of modern revenue-generating infrastructure are too important to make behind closed doors.”

Toronto Hydro announced in January that it would seek expressions of interest from potential buyers for Telecom.
