The Hospital Employees Union’s case against a 2002 BC law that tore up their collective agreement goes to the Supreme Court Feb. 8.

Bill 29, The Health and Social Services Delivery Improvement Act, shredded legally negotiated collective agreements, clearing the way for the firing of 8,000 health care workers.

HEU, along with the BC Government Employees Union and the BC Nurses Union have been challenging the law in the courts ever since.
