HEU’s Provincial Executive wrapped up a two-day meeting on Friday May 23 to map out the next steps after members of the facilities sector unions had voted against ratifying a tentative framework agreement.

Union secretary-business manager Chris Allnutt says the meeting was constructive, with much of the planning discussion focussing in on ways to canvas members to seek their input.

Meanwhile, Allnutt says that HEU leaders will share our plan with union side bargaining partners at a meeting of the facilities sector bargaining association that is set for Monday afternoon, May 26.

Allnutt expects the outcome of that meeting will then be communicated to government and the public at the earliest opportunity.

Beyond communicating the results of the ratification vote outcome to government and Health Employers Association of B.C. representatives, Allnutt says that no further talks have taken place with Victoria or employers.
