Nanotechnology is a fast-growing industry, with new innovations and products emerging almost daily. It’s showing up in places you might not expect: cosmetics, paint, cleaners, food packaging, clothing and even pool chemicals.

But do we really know what kind of effects these minute particles have? Currently less than five per cent of the nanotech research funds go into the health and safety implications of the new technology, and the truth is no one really knows what kind of consequences it could have for workers and our environment.
