REGINA - The unions representing 25,000 Saskatchewan health care providers will hold a rally this Friday in Regina to protest the lack of progress in contract negotiations.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and Saskatchewan Government and General Employees Union (SGEU) have been in contract negotiations with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO) for over a year.

The three unions represent health workers in acute care, long-term care, community care and home care. The workers are employed in a variety of classifications including: special care aides and dietary staff, licensed practical nurses, technicians and technologists, housekeeping, laundry, clerical and maintenance.
