(Sydney) Municipal workers with the Cape Breton Regional Municipality will be holding an information picket with a seasonal twist, throughout the day tomorrow (Thursday, December 20).

The inside workers with CBRM, members of CUPE Local 933, will be handing out flyers to passersby at the Civic Centre, dressed as The Grinch and Scrooge.

CUPE National Rep. Jacquie Bramwell says, After a very disheartening return to the bargaining table this week, we can truly say that this employer is acting like The Grinch who stole Christmas.

Local 933 members will be voicing their displeasure with CBRM Council and the mayor, after contract talks took a turn for the worse. They actually withdrew some agreed to items in this round of talks. Its as if they are trying to provoke us into striking, says Bramwell.

(ASSIGNMENT/PHOTO EDITORS: The Grinch and Scrooge will be handing out flyers in front of the CBRM Civic Centre in Sydney from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., December 20. CUPE Atlantic Regional Director Roger Neeley will be paying them a visit at 11:00 a.m.)
