Sudbury, Ont. – Greater Sudbury Hydro workers, represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), are in negotiations with their employer to achieve a new contract for 65 office, clerical, technical, production and trades workers.

We are seeking a fair deal for our members,” said Wyman MacKinnon, president of CUPE 4705. “We will be dealing with a number of issues at the bargaining table but we are optimistic that we will be able to address them.”

Both parties exchanged proposals in late December and are in negotiations this week. Further talks are scheduled for late January and early February.  The workers’ current contract expires on March 31, 2008.
