On Monday, April 7, we have been asked by UNI Global Union, a global union federation, to flood Colombian embassies around the world with messages of protest for the rest of the week.
CUPE national leaders responded to news of the murder of five trade unionists after the March 6 rallies for peace in Colombia. We reported here on those murders including the assassination of Leonidas Gomez Rozo, a leader of the National Union of Bank Workers of Colombia. The UNBWC is affiliated to UNI Global Union.
His murder in early March was one of several violent attacks against trade unionists in that country.
