BATHURST, N.B. - The City of Bathurst and the employees of the KC Irving Regional Centre signed their first collective agreement.

Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 4632 represents some 50 part-time workers at the KC Irving Centre and they provide security, custodial and technical services. They also work at the concessions, box office, ushers and parking attendants.

The hourly wage increase varies from $1.50 to $1.70 for the duration of the 3-year contract.

They also obtained seniority rights, a sick leave provision, improvements to hours of work and vacation provisions, reduction in the pay steps and a RSP plan.

The new agreement is retroactive to February 2004 and will expire December 30, 2006.
