The 27 firefighters in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, members of CUPE 7150, which is affiliated with the Conseil provincial du secteur incendie SPQ-CUPE, have a new collective agreement covering 2023 to 2027. The contract was signed following a unanimous ratification vote.

Representatives of the union bargaining committee said unanimously that “we wish to underscore the employer’s collaboration during the bargaining sessions. We would also like to thank the members who supported us throughout the process along with our union adviser, Dominic Cordeau, for his professionalism and availability.”

The contract calls for wage increases totalling 22.4% along with a purchasing power protection clause for 2025 to 2027. Some of the gains made during these negotiations include increases in the number of weeks’ vacation for workers with less seniority, a cell phone utilization allowance and compensation for childcare during the holiday season.
