OSHAWA, ON – Women’s shelter workers, members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), launched a Holiday Food and Toy Drive campaign in Durham Region. The campaign, led by CUPE 4724, is seeking donations of non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys for children and teens.

All the collected items will be donated to six local shelters in Durham Region,” said Heila Pitter, president of CUPE 4724. “Durham CUPE members work and live in this community, and with this campaign, we want to help bring smiles to children’s faces and support families during the holiday season.”

The following businesses/agencies will accept donations during the next three weeks:

In Ajax:

Women’s Multicultural Counselling and Referral Services, Ajax (Please call for drop off location and time at 905-427-7849)

In Bowmanville:

In Oshawa:
