All over Québec, starting at 5 a.m. today, despite freezing rain, thousands of FTQ members took part in the largest demonstrations in decades to protest the Charest governments attempt to legislate away years of social peace.

The Liberal government has proposed a flood of new legislation paving the way for contracting out and privatization in health care and social services. And they want to make it into law in the next 15 days.
