(Halifax) Teaching assistants and part-time instructors at Dalhousie University have set a strike date of Friday, April 23.

CUPE Local 3912 represents some 930 TAs and part-time instructors at Dal. They have voted to take job action to back their Negotiating Committees position on wage increases for TA's.

The union will inform the Department of Labour on Monday of its intention to give notice of strike action.

Dal TA's are among the lowest paid university teaching assistants in the country, while Dalhousie has one of the highest tuition fees in the country.
