Owen Gordon and Mike Lang, members of CUPE Local 43, City of Toronto, City Works, found a purse near the Royal York Hotel just hours after it had been stolen from Alberta National Servicing Representative, Roxanne Wells. Thinking quickly, the members brought the purse to foreman Scott Gain who moved immediately to return the purse to its owner via convention headquarters. “Once again, says Roxanne, “it has been proven that CUPE members go that extra mile to deliver public services.” The sister also wants to thank her fellow staff members for taking up a collection to replace some of the stolen cash.
