WHEREAS Wal-Mart employees in Jonquir0065, Quebec certified with the UFCW to gain the benefits of unionization; and

WHEREAS Wal-Mart refused to bargain in good faith and recently announced their decision to close the Jonquir0065 store; and

WHEREAS Wal-Mart has made it clear that its corporate position is to oppose any and all efforts by their employees to exercise their right to unionize; and

WHEREAS the CLC and the UFCW have announced plans to run a national campaign to expose Wal-Marts anti-labour conduct through direct communication with all trade unionists and the general public;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that CUPE support fully the CLC-UFCW-QFL national campaign through book-offs for activists to work on the campaign; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that CUPE communicate details on the CLC-UFCW-QFL campaign to all chartered organizations encouraging all members and staff to support the campaign.
