(Sydney) – Employees of the Cheticamp Association for  Community Living
have their first union contract.

CUPE Local 4896 reached a tentative agreement with the Association with the help of a Conciliator from the Department of Labour and Workforce Development.

No details of the collective agreement will be released until a ratification vote.  A meeting is scheduled for September 29, 2009 at the Cheticamp Harbour Authority Building at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

CUPE National Representative John Evans says the Bargaining Committee is recommending acceptance of the deal to the approximately 35 employees.
