VANCOUVER – Thanks to a lead obtained by 24 HOURS reporter Bill Tieleman and published in Friday’s paper, striking CUPE workers were able to successfully picket the upscale Arbutus Club this weekend and put it out of the garbage business. The Club, which charges a $40,000 yearly membership fee, was offering a special service for members that included a $5 charge to dispose of two bags of members’ garbage twice a week.
