The development of the Alberta tar sands is now the world’s largest industrial project. Tar sands development has huge environmental implications for all global citizens and for Canadians in particular.

In March of 2008, a group of British Columbia activists visited Fort McMurray on a “listening tour” to get a better understanding of the complex issues surrounding the tar sands. CUPE Researcher Blair Redlin represented CUPE as part of that delegation. Read his report on the visit written jointly with BC Stop TILMA Campaign Coordinator Caelie Frampton.
