(Truro) - CUPE Nova Scotia President Danny Cavanagh calls Premier Rodney Macdonald’s budget announcement, “the Jerry Seinfeld Show of budgets.  It’s a budget about nothing.”

Says Cavanagh, “The people of Nova Scotia should be quite concerned that this far into an economic downturn, the leader of our province still refuses to give specific details about his plans to stimulate the economy.

In a brazen attempt to rescue his faltering government, he’s going to wait until he drops the election writ – possibly as far away as two months from now – before he releases any real details.  People should be outraged.

And then it will go from Jerry Seinfeld to a Dionne Warwick song those of us of a certain vintage can remember well, ‘Promises, Promises’.  But Nova Scotians are no longer buying what he is selling,” says Cavanagh.
