TorontoSid Ryan the Ontario president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees will speak at a rally in support of 2,100 striking teaching assistants, graduate students and contract faculty at York University (CUPE Local 3903) tomorrow, Thursday, November 2 at 12:00 noon, the main campus gate on Keele Street.

The rally is organized by the York University Faculty Association (YUFA) and other unions at York.

Its heartening to know that many other workers at York recognize the tremendous contribution members of CUPE Local 3903 make to the university and are there supporting our issues and demanding that the administration get back to the bargaining table.

At campuses across Ontario, part-time faculty are being treated like sweatshop labour by university administrations. And it is going to stop, said Ryan.
