TORONTO, ON– Fred Hahn, president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Ontario will join workers and community groups at a rally outside the Liberal leadership debate in Toronto tomorrow.

The government used Bill 115 to attack our democratic right to collectively bargain contracts with our employers, creating an unnecessary crisis in education,” says Hahn. “They need to declare they’ll scrap their plans to further take away the collective bargaining rights of the entire public sector and destroy fair contract arbitration. That’s the only way to end the chaos and it is how the next Liberal leader can start off on the right foot.”

CUPE Ontario represents 230,000 workers who provide public services that support Ontarians in every community, including workers in health care, school boards, social services, universities and municipalities.
