OTTAWA – CUPE members and supporters will be holding rallies across Canada today in support of Air Canada flight attendants.

Paul Moist, national president of CUPE, will be attending the rally being held on Parliament Hill, and will be available to media to comment on the bargaining talks.

The Air Canada component of CUPE and the airlines management have been in near-constant talks for the past two days, and a fair deal for flight attendants and the airline is still within reach,” says Moist. “It is completely improper for Labour Minister Lisa Raitt to be discussing federal government intervention at this stage in negotiations. The Harper Conservative government should be impartial, and respect the rights of both parties.”
