CUPE Local 1478 has reached a tentative agreement with Braemore Home in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on behalf of 45 LPNs in the facility.

CUPE National Representative John Evans says, “It’s a two-year agreement but other than that no details will be released until it is presented to the members on March 18 for a ratification vote.”

Evans says the bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of the deal and are happy with the offer.

Says Evans, “We view this as a positive new beginning at Braemore. It is part of rebuilding trust between the union and the employer. We are looking forward to working with the new CEO, Mildred Colbourne, as well.”
