(St. John’s) – CUPE members at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home (SPMH) and Glenbrook Lodge are helping celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ‘Hats off For Cancer’ charity.

Local 879 is holding a ‘Child’s Day for Hats’ event on May 25 from 9:30-11:30 am and 1:30-3:30 pm in the SPMH auditorium.

Local 879 President Sheree Juneja (PRON: june-NAY-jah) says, “We’re asking people to drop off a child’s hat or hats to help make this day a success.

“It’s a small way of helping to make the lives of children who suffer from this dreadful disease, a little brighter,” says Juneja.

CUPE says all hats collected will be presented to Lisa Shallow from the Cancer Society at the end of the day Friday.
