(Truro) – The union representing outside workers with the Town of Truro has ratified a new, four-year contract with the municipality.
CUPE National Representative Grant Dart says, “Members of Local 734 voted in favour of the new deal which runs from May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2017.
Wage increases include:
• May 1, 2013 - a 3% hike
• May 1, 2014 - a 3% hike
• May 1, 2015 - a 2.5% hike
• May 1, 2016 - a 2.5% hike
Dart says there were several other improvements included in the new deal.
