CUPE Local 1949 will be making an important announcement and delivery during the Legal Aid Commission’s next meeting on Friday.
CUPE Local 1949 represents 150 Legal Aid employees including lawyers and administrative staff. In that last month, Legal Aid Saskatchewan has privatized the majority of duty counsel work in the Saskatoon office and eliminated three staff lawyer positions.
Speakers will include Tribal Chief Mark Arcand, CUPE National President Mark Hancock, and Meara Conway, Vice-president of CUPE Local 1949.
The press conference will take place on Friday, September 28 at 10:45 a.m. on the steps of the courthouse, located at 220 - 19 St E.
