CUPE’s 2012 Earth Day Newsletter is filled with current environmental facts. It also launches the 2012 Earth Day contest directed at young people. The poster contest, aimed at children from kindergarten to grade 6 encourages them to create an Earth Day poster showing what the earth does for them and what they can do for the earth. There is also a media and art contest for older students, whereby entries may by submitted using a variety of media or art forms, including computer graphic design programs, photography, a short film clip, poetry or an environmental essay. Entries may be submitted electronically or by mail. The contest closes on June 1, 2012.
