AJAX, ON – Aramark food service staff working at the Rouge Valley Health System recently voted to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) to improve their working conditions.

Fairness and respect are the cornerstones of a healthy workplace and we will work closely with our members to ensure an improved work environment,” said Debbie Oldfield, CUPE organizing representative. “Our Aramark members will now have the backing of Canada’s largest union with a legitimate process to address workplace issues.”

The 14 Aramark food service workers will join CUPE’s existing family at Rouge Valley Health System. CUPE 4365 already represents 800 hospital workers at Rouge Valley.

CUPE is Canada’s largest union, representing over 600,000 members in different sectors, including hospitals, universities, schools, municipalities, social services, transportation and other sectors.
