A move by the Harris government to merge ten boards and tribunals has been sharply condemned by CUPE.
There is nothing fair and equitable in the Ontario governments move to eliminate tribunals that rule on human rights complaints, pay equity claims, labour disputes and appeals by injured workers and replace them with a single mega-panel of adjudicators hand-picked by Tories, said CUPE Ontario president Sid Ryan.
The move is another attempt to dilute workers rights and human rights, attacking the most vulnerable, Ryan said. This government never gives up trying to shift the balance in favour of employers.
