TORONTO — The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) protests the bylaw passed at Timmins Council, May 30, 2005, to no longer entertain deputations from organized labour actively engaged in a dispute.

Everyone in a vibrant democracy must continue to have the right to Freedom of Speech. It is key,” says Sid Ryan, President of CUPE Ontario. “We must continue to be able to make deputations before the officials we’ve freely elected and are accountable to us.”
