Lethbridge The union of the woman who saw her home explode this weekend has set up a fund for community members to assist the hospital worker in rebuilding her life.

The victim, whos identity has not been fully revealed to the public, is a CUPE member employed by the Chinook Health Region. She is a resident of Lethbridge and a single mother.

CUPE Alberta, along with the Health Region, have set up a fund to assist the fire victim. Lethbridge and area residents can contribute to the fund at the following locations:

  • Any branch of the 1st Choice Credit Union - ask for the CUPE member assistance fund
  • The CUPE Lethbridge office: 714 13 Street North (329-0266)
  • CHR Foundation office at Lethbridge Regional Hospital

A union is like a family, and when one of our family members hits tough times, we pull together, said CUPE Alberta President Bruce McLeod. Im pleased that the health region is working with us we are all there for our community.
