BURNABY The Province newspaper and some other news outlets mistakenly reported this week that CUPE BC had endorsed a candidate in the NDP leadership race.
They were referring to CUPEs Vancouver Island District Council not CUPE BC, the unions provincial division.
Candidates have been invited to attend a meeting of CUPE BC committee members on Oct. 15, 2003, to make a short statement followed by questions and answers.
This will give the CUPE BC executive board and committee members an opportunity to meet and hear the candidates.
A public endorsement will be announced before the leadership convention.
