EDMONTON – The Alberta Division of the Canadian Union of Public Employees(CUPE) will hold its convention at the Medicine Hat Lodge this week.

CUPE represents 30,000 mostly public sector employees in the municipal, education, health care and other fields.

CUPE Alberta President D’Arcy Lanovaz said delegates would be addressing the issues of leasing public schools, the Trade and Investment Agreement between Alberta and BC, and the continuing effects of the economic boom on public services.

Media are welcome to attend any part of the convention. Agenda highlights include:
